Lake House, Kovachevtsi

Single-family Residential Buildings

Our main purpose in this project was to achieve harmonious connection with the surrounding territory adjacent to Lake Pchelina. The reconstruction and expansion of this single-family residential building takes place on a 2700 sq.m site plot with 40 meters wide lakefront.
The building is integrated to the landscape reducing its presence to a minimalistic one-storey volume with an emphasized horizontal line of the silhouette.
The existing courtyard has been converted into a covered transitional space connecting the entrance area with the living room and the spacious terrace, ending with an infinity pool. A new approach to the house is created through the existing service building. The fully glazed facade provides a path to the lake with an uninterrupted view of the water from the entrance flowing through the entire house directly into the shoreline.
All living spaces are fully glazed towards the lake. The living area opens entirely to the pool via the sliding façade and blends the interior with the exterior space.
Minimalist material palette serves to lessen the impact of the house on the waterfront landscape.
